My work with clients emphasizes changing self-defeating thoughts and beliefs as a way of reconnecting with others and finding fulfillment in life. I have specialized education and training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Level One and Two (for trauma), and treatment of adult survivors of childhood abuse.

ABOUT SUZANNE
I offer a comforting presence, a wealth of human experience, and expertise in depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, suicidal thoughts, sexual abuse, relationship issues, anger management, LGBT issues, aging, and adjusting to change. I would be honored to join you in a journey to bring balance and satisfaction into your life. I have worked extensively with individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, and trauma and counseled incarcerated individual/their families and college students of all ages, This includes significant experience counseling young adults struggling through major life transitions.

As a cancer survivor, I offer a unique understanding of the emotional impacts of physical challenges. My clients range from older adolescents to senior citizens, including individuals and couples.
Through both dedication and patience, my clients have been able to develop strength to overcome challenges, understanding to fortify relationships, and confidence to handle whatever life may bring.

EDUCATION
My prior professional experience includes journalism and charter school management. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in English from Idaho State University in 1987 and my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Idaho State University in 2013. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the State of Idaho and a National Board Certified Counselor.
